Car Park at Waikanae Railway Station under protest

60 year old Pohutakawa trees due to be cut down for a new car park at Waikanae railway station have been draped with painted cardboard signs including “Car parks go round trees”. “Oh No I’m 4 the CHOP”, and “I’m a NZ Native”

Some Waikanae residents feel the area will become bleak and desolate with out them
